It's curious how many times a customer seems intrigued about our menu and our staff. As if they had either been here before or as if this setting seemed familiar to them. It so happens that our family owns and operates several other locations and in which some similarities and differences can be found.
For starters, they notice that we offer a special kind of glassware for our draft beers known as the DAS Boot. A popular German drinking vessel designed in the shaped of a high boot which was popularized by an American Movie called “Beer Fest.” This unique beer cup is available at all of our locations and in our last batch we added the names of all locations and the total number of draft beers that we offer in each one of them. Here at the Los Angeles Biergarten we also decided to add the traditional Glass Liter Steins as another option for your drinking enjoyment. Over the years, our social media mentions across all platforms usually involve a mention of our popular DAS Boot been enjoyed by our customers.
Another similarity that many customers find is the very popular Appetizer Sampler Platter. Since day one when we opened our doors at the Downey Brewing Company, we have always offered this platter and have never changed any item on it. (4) Chicken Wings, usually tossed with Buffalo Sauce, (4) Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, (3) Chicken Tender Strips, (2) Beef Sliders, Steak Cut Fries, and Onion Rings. All this food is served on a large platter accompanied with Marinara Sauce, Ranch, and plenty of Ketchup. You can order this same sampler at any of our locations and most groups enjoy the many selections offered at a very reasonable price.
Our sister locations are as follows: Downey Brewing Company founded in 2008 and the flagship location for our family. Located in the city of Downey, California it is considered a historic building as it was built as an “A Frame” and was home to the predecessor to IHOP which operated under the name of “Copper Penny Cafe.” This location offers 64 Beers on Tap and maintains plenty of decor from the original design- 2 fireplaces on each side of the building, original booths on one side of the restaurant, the original wood wall featuring cut outs of different sizes of trees, the original exhaust system, and the original refrigeration system that features 12 tall doors for the many kegs that we keep inside.
